Day 5 of #smallwebjuly - link & idea dump

Onwards! Day 5 for me, and this one is short. Just some interesting things that I stumbled upon that may help you feel a lil spark!

Online life:

  1. music: I started my morning with this set that randomly showed up on DataFruits while I made eggs and bounced around my kitchen. Less spotify, more weird sets on weird sites
  2. webweaving: I came across weirdweboctober.website, which was a challenge like inktober except for building weird pages instead of drawing. Here are some of the pages that came from it!
  3. blogroll: Maya.land has an incredible blogroll page that has feed links by each link - I am scatterbrained when I bop around the web so I appreciate an easy feed link so I can pop it into my reader before I get sucked into someone's site looking for it and forget what I came for.
  4. pixel art: I made an 88x31 button on PixilArt.com. It's browser based, didn't require any kind of signup, and I was able to create a transparent button that didn't get too compressed in downloading it.

Offline life:

  1. I need to make some kind of baked good for a party tonight! If you have a foolproof recipe for a beginner baker I will try it - you can leave me a note on the cbox on my website
  2. We did a lot of walking and making friends with neighbor yesterday. Having a friendly dog helps!
  3. I am struggling with the general sadness of being in the US and being married to a public health/hospital-based researcher. We are so sad with what's bound to happen in our country from this bill on top of the suffering that's already happening. I am alternating being joyful out of spite and then realizing I'm spiritually bypassing myself and not letting the grief move through my bones.

Continuing goals:

  1. Working out a button wall for fun, and a more serious links page off of my Notion one.
  2. Learning command line basics from this course that Vaettr linked me to! This is the kind of deeper knowledge that I've been afraid of. I have to remember that I also felt like I wasn't mechanically inclined at all until I got printing presses - which I cared about enough to suddenly want to learn how to care for!
  3. 11ty, I am coming for you!
